“Colorful paths”
The illumination of the district is part of the «Cinéma-Bellevue» district contract and is part of the overall redevelopment project proposed by architects Suède36.
It was developed in close collaboration with the architects, to be consistent with their work in the area.
A night-time exploratory walk was organised beforehand in order to better meet users’ expectations.
We proposed 3 types of intervention on each of the lines of the «Pietro de Molenbeek» (name given to the pedestrian walkways in the district, distinguished by colour, in reference to the metro lines):
- white light (replacement of light sources);
- coloured walls along the Pietro lines;
- some interventions on places or squares.
