The Memorial’s illumination project works on contrasted chiaroscuro, by accentuating the verticals lines, both graphically (angles and projections are lit) and by a progressively stronger light as you get closer to the «sky».
The lighting design was conceived as an exact response to the lighting of the adjoining Cointe basilica.
The esplanade is deliberately left in semi-darkness, although the contours (retaining walls) are lit in order to «define» the space.
